Protect your yard, fruit trees, vegetables, flowers and water features from hungry or destructive animal intruders.

The ScareCrow® motion-activated sprinkler automatically detects deer, racoons, heron, dogs and more as they approach, and repels them with a short but startling burst of water.

The sudden noise, movement and spray scares animals away, teaching them to avoid the area in future.

The ScareCrow:

  • works day and night without chemicals or unsightly barriers
  • can be linked to other ScareCrows to form an effective water barrier
  • conserves water - uses just 2 to 3 cups per deterrence
  • operates for up to six months on a single nine-volt battery
  • one scarecrow covers approximately 1300 sq. ft.

Using the ScareCrow is easy. Simply attach a standard garden hose to its base, set the ScareCrow in the ground in the area you want to protect, and then turn on the water. Once you switch the unit on, it is ready to go.

How does it work?

The ScareCrow uses a combination of sudden noise, unexpected movement, and a startling blast of water to create a memorable and unpleasant experience for the trespasser.

The animal immediately associates this unpleasant experience with the location, and to avoid similar surprises, learns to avoid the area. If an animal chooses to return, the ScareCrow will be waiting.

While a human may flee several steps after activating a ScareCrow, animals are typically affected to a much greater degree.

In most cases they run much farther, and stay away longer.

Because the unit only triggers when the animal moves, its behaviour is difficult for animals to anticipate, making it a very effective deterrent.

Reminder for ScareCrow use in winter:

To prevent damage from freezing water, take the ScareCrow inside and remove the battery before the first winter frost. Failure to do so may cause some parts to break as ice expands inside.

Creative Use of ScareCrow by our customer Jeffrey L:

I’m very good at customizing items for my own use.  I customized the Scarecrow water sprinkler used to keep Blue Herons away. (Picture Below)

I have two of these connected directly to the sprinkler system supply line and hard wired to an outlet for power.

One points up in the air (we had a problem with a red tail hawk) and the other points across the water.

These have worked Flawlessly for 5+ years with zero maintenance!  I’ve installed them with slight modifications in others ponds.

You can see in one of these pictures a copper pipe – this is only there to add stability.  The white pvc is the water supply.

The power is a 9v transformer connected directly to the batter terminals inside the battery compartment.

I’ve pulled out the red/black wire in the picture.  This is very cheap and easy to do…as long as you have power and a water supply nearby.

Just thought I’d share – seeing you might be interested.  BTW, I purchased both scarecrow sensors from you.
