Installation Procedures

Cut pipe square.   Deburr pipe with a file, knife or reamer.   Wipe pipe clean with a clean dry cloth.

Make trial fit; pipe should go easily into fitting socket about ½ of the socket depth. Select the proper size applicator; 2½" diameter pip and larger requires a brush or roller.
Complete the following steps within 30 seconds to assure a secure joint!
Apply a full, even coat of cement to outside of pipe and inside of fitting where pipe and fitting join. Avoid puddles and voids (apply primer if code required or using a solvent other than Red Hot Blue Glue).

Apply a second full, even coat to the outside of the pipe only.   Push pipe into fitting until bottomed and rotate one quarter turn into position.   Hold the joint together firmly for 30 seconds. This will prevent the joint from pushing apart.

Remove excess cement and leave joint undisturbed for at least thirty minutes. Full joint strength should be reached within 24 hours, depending on existing temperature and humidity.
