Question:

Can that be installed with a vertical inlet pipe, rather than a horizontal?"

Aquascape Tech Answer:

Yes, they just want to be sure that the water pressure is under 100 psi.

Question:

On the Compact Fill Valve, if the water level is too high, do you pivot the Arm higher or lower?

Aquascape Tech Answer:

You would go higher. When the float drops the water kicks on.

Question:

Would this work for salt water needs or would metals rust?

Aquascape Tech Answer:

I’m afraid it will rust. It is not rated for salt water.

Question:

Is there a minimum pressure required by this valve? I want to connect it to a rainwater storage tank.

Aquascape Tech Answer:

This will work with a pressure from 0- 100 PSI

Question:

Is there a Frost-free Auto-fill Valve that can be used in the cold Minnesota winters. Which auto-fill would be the best?

Answer:

I have never heard of a frost free fill valve, though that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. However, we always recommend shutting off the water and draining the lines in the winter time. Freezing weather can cause a lot of damage to plumbing and pumps, especially if there is a power failure. If the power goes off and everything freezes up the fittings in the lines and the pump itself could be damaged. There is also the potential for ice dams building up which can divert water out of a feature quite quickly. This can cause the pump to run dry, which causes a whole other set of problems.

So, unfortunately we are not able to help you with this one.

Answer to question

The company's answer to the question about adjusting the pivot arm is incorrect. If your water level is too high, pivot the float downward so the cut-off will occur at a lower level. If you move the arm up, it will allow water to continue flowing beyond the desired level.

A response from the PondMeister...

Dave H from Aquascape Products responds:

"Please refer to the instructions at 88006-pro-compact-fill-valve-instructions.pdf . You can see the proper orientation of it, it sounds like it is backwards? I just set one up last week and didn't have any issues? If they spoke to someone in customer care then they probably failed to ask that question"

Pondless Waterfall

Did a lot of research before I purchased my pondless waterfall kit, so glad I choose this outlet. The price was competitive but the handling of the order and subsequent response and advise was excellent. Could not have asked for better customer service.
