About the artist Roxanne Rochelle Skene:
With a desire to communicate a story, sculptor Roxanne Skene hopes to share an intimate moment with her audience. Her heart felt images radiate grace and beauty in motion. In a mysterious and unique way, Roxanne's imaginative and creative sculptures offer the viewer an opportunity to interpret for themselves the hidden meaning behind each piece.
Roxanne recieved her formal art education at the highly acclaimed Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. She has an extensive education in human anatomy. Her technique has allowed her to realistically portray her subject's individual character and structure. Roxanne's background as an illustrator gives her the ability to create compositions unique to her particular style. These gifts, along with her passion for storytelling, make each piece a treasure to behold.
Roxanne has recieved an honorable mention in the California Art Club Gold Medal show, a First Place medal at Pepperdine University's Federick R. Weisman Museum, and was a finalist in the prestigious 2007 International Arc Salon. She has been commissioned by Silagi Development, Hampton Inn, and the Miller Family Companies to sculpt life-size public art pieces. Her work can be found in various collections including those of Dr. Phil and the Hilton Family
