Customer Question:
I have a question about the UJ4 and UJ8 under water junction box. If I were to be installing 7 fixtures only in the box, is the extra opening sealed or will I need to seal it my self?
Easy Pro Answer:
Each one of the outlets has a rubber seal that the wire is pushed through. By puncturing this seal with the wire, the rubber helps to seal around the wire. Once everything is wired correctly the potting compound is put into the junction box and seals it more. If some of the outlets are not used the rubber seals and the potting compound will keep it water tight at those points.

I have some questions about he UJ4B underwater junction box. 1. Does it come with plugs and cord seals? 2. What do you recommend for potting compound, and does it come with it?

There are rubber seals in the cord holes. The wire is pushed through those into the junction box. When everything is wired up and ready to for the potting compound to be put in, those rubber seals keep the compound from coming out those holes while it sets.

The UJ4B has 4 holes, we will only use 2 holes so are there plugs for the 2 not being utilized?

The junction box has rubber seals over all of the cord holes. So basically all of those openings are sealed to start with. When the electrical cord is pushed thru one of them the rubber seals around the cord. When the potting compound is added all of the seals, the ones that are used and the ones that are not, keep the potting compound in while it sets. Do not remove any of the seals

“I am trying to get some info on ordering the UJ8B box and some potting compound to go with it. Does the box include the connectors for attaching the wires to the box? What size wires will they work with? I only have six wires coming out of the box and 3 measure 7.5mm and the other 3 are 12.5mm. Also can the 2 outlets I dont use be plugged up with a threaded brass plug?
Easy Pro Answer:
The junction boxes' cord holes have rubber seals that the wires are inserted through. There are no connectors for the cords.
Cords 3/8" outside diameter are the biggest that can be used.
The purpose of the rubber seals on the cord holes is to contain the potting compound until it is set. So any of the junctions that are not used will still have the rubber seals.
Please note the potting compound is what makes these junction boxes watertight, not the rubber seals.
One UJC potting compound will fill one UJ8 or UJ8B.
