FAQ:

Q. When I place the Cordless Pond Cleaner in my pond and press on the trigger, no water is pumping out. What am I doing wrong?
A. The PowerClean Cordless Pond Cleaner must be primed before use in order to function. To prime, hold the pond cleaner horizontally over the pond with the brush nozzle completely submersed. To start the unit, push forward on the safety switch and then press on the trigger. A) The unit may take up to 15 seconds of operation to purge air and fill the hosing. Float the hose and debris bag in the pond while priming to reduce head height or lower the exit pipe to ground level if possible. B) The battery may be discharged - change batteries or re-charge before trying again. C) There may be a blockage in the unit or hose. Remove battery and check for blockage.
Q. My blades have jammed - I think there's a pebble or piece of wood stuck inside. What should I do?
A. Before conducting any maintenance on your Cordless Pond Cleaner, always ensure the battery is removed. If the brush attachment needs to be removed to access the blockage, do so with care. Do not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the unit. Once the blades can be accessed, visually inspect and if need be carefully remove the item causing the blockage and ensure no damage was done to the blades. If you suspect that the blades have been damaged, contact your local Laguna retailer to arrange for service. Re-install the brush attachment, securing with the two screws provided. Do not use the unit without brush nozzle secured.
Q. When my battery is charging, how will I know when it is fully charged?A. When the battery is placed in the charger, the LED light on the plug will be red. Once the battery is fully charged, the light will turn to green.
Q. Should I vacuum my entire pond in one session?
A. No. The Cordless Pond Cleaner works best when you spread out the job over a few days, working on a section at a time. This will allow the floating fine dirt and debris to settle, making removal easier.
Q. Once fully charged, how long will my battery run?
A. Once fully charged, the Laguna rechargeable lithium battery will run for up to 30 minutes. Replacement batteries can be purchased to have a fully charged battery available at all times. Remember; when vacuuming your pond it is best to spread it out over several days. This allows the fine debris that is distributed time to settle back down.
Q. How long does it take to charge the battery from flat to full?
A. Approximately 4 hours.
Q. How much will it cost me to charge my battery each time?
A. The charger uses less power then the average household light bulb. The North American model uses approximately 36W while the European model uses approximately 40W. Charging the battery will cost you just a few cents/pence.
Q. My pond is 4 feet deep and I would like to reach the bottom. How to I extend the unit?
A. The Cordless Pond Cleaner can be extended to reach up to 92.5" (235 cm). To extend, simply loosen the two(2) collet locking rings on the extendible handle as indicated on the unit. (if uncertain about this operation, please consult your Installation instructions). Extend the handle to the desired length and then tighten both locking rings so that the handle locks in place.
Q. My pond is near a lot of trees which cause large debris, such as branches and seed pods to fall into my pond. I'd rather operate this unit without the chopping blades. Is this possible?
A. We do not recommend using the Cordless Pond Cleaner without the blades. The unit was designed to handle only small debris (under 10 mm in size). We suggest the pond be skimmed using a pond net of any large debris before using the Cordless Pond Cleaner to prevent its clogging.
Q. What is the purpose of the shoulder strap and how do I put it on?
A. The purpose of the shoulder strap is to help alleviate the weight of the unit, during longer cleaning sessions. See the installation instructions for how to assemble and clip on the shoulder strap.
Q. What spare parts are available for the Cordless Pond Cleaner?
A. We offer the following spare parts for the Cordless Pond Cleaner:
Q. How do I maximize the suction power when operating the Cordless Pond Cleaner?
A. Allowing the discharge tubing and debris bag to float on the pond when the unit is in use will help to maximize the water output. Doing this reduces the head height which the water must travel before being expelled.
Q. I want to have the water run from my exit hose onto my garden, which is up above the level of the pond. To what head height will the pond cleaner operate?
A. The exit hose can be held to around 48" / 120cm before the water from the exit hose reduces to a trickle and stops.
Q. Can I use my Cordless Pond Cleaner to clean my above ground pool?
A. Under NO circumstances is the Cordless Pond Cleaner to be used in swimming pools or any other locations where people may be immersed. In addition, the Cordless Pond Cleaner may tear the liner during use causing a hazardous condition and risk of drowning.
Q. Why is there a handle on the motor housing?
A. The handle on the motor housing is in place to facilitate transportation. It provides a second handle to hold on to when carrying the unit to and from storage.
Q. Will the Cordless Pond Cleaner cause any risk to my fish and frogs? I don't want them to get sucked up.
A. The Cordless Pond Cleaner causes enough noise and vibration to warn the creatures, they will get out of the way.
Q. So will the noise from the Cordless Pond Cleaner stress the pond inhabitants?
A. No, the Cordless Pond Cleaner is no noisier than an average pond pump.
Q. It says in the warranty that wear and tear parts are not covered. What about the blades?
A. If the blades become damaged over time, or are broken during use due to a large piece of debris then the blades will need changing. Blade replacement must only be carried out by an Authorized Laguna Specialist and there will be a charge for this service. The blades are considered to be a wear and tear part.
Q. While using the Cordless Pond Cleaner all the dirt from the bottom of the pond is stirring up and clouding the water so I can't see anything. How do I prevent this from happening?
A. When vacuuming a pond you should go very slowly. Any fast movements in the water will only stir the dirt up, making it impossible to suck up. Take your time, do a small section at a time, and use smooth, slow strokes.

Q. After using my Cordless Pond Cleaner, I noticed water leaking out of the locking rings. Should I be concerned?
A. No, water getting into the shaft is ok and won't cause any problems. The motor enclosure in the handle is sealed so no water will get into the electrical components.
