Compact version of the UltraSieve for use only in a pump fed configuration.

Very easy to use: a dirty water pond pump is connected directly to the CompactSieve input.

The water flows through the sieve which removes all particle matter down to a size of 300 micron. The CompactSieve must always be installed above pond level.

Applications:

  • As a dirt filter directly next to the pond or in front of a stream/waterfall (A)
  • As a pre-filter above a pump-fed (vortex/multi-chamber) filter (B)
  • As a trickle filter combined with the same empty housing (C)
  • As a dirt filter after a pond so that the purified water is not discharged but can go back into the pond (D)
  • As a dirt filter after a pond skimmer (E)

The stainless steel screening element is 24 cm wide and 40 cm long and has a diameter of 300 microns. Max. capacity is ± 15m³/hour. Pump input via 3-stage hose barb.
Comes with lid. Spout and overflow protection 75mm, standard with cuff fittings.

Not compatible with standard tubing

It does not attach to any readily available return hoses. Why such big return outlets? You literally have to just dump it back into the pond. Why not include adapters for standard tubing?

Fernco Fittings, Dude.

I’m leaving a review because the only one I saw on this site was a one star where the customer was complaining about the fittings. The outlet is metric. But a fernco adaptor will easily fit over the outside of the fittings they’ve provided and as long as the flow isn’t backed up on its way back to the pond, you shouldn’t have an issue here. Learning how to use the different plumbing adaptors available to you is one of the first things you’ll learn setting up a filtration system, and once you have that knowledge, this is a cake walk. The compact sieve is a great budget sieve that, while not as low maintenance as a gravity fed sieve costing twice as much, (I go out and clean mine out once a day, a quick scoop of leaves and a brush to pick up some of the smaller particles and you’re done) will go a long way in keeping solids out of the water column.
