Shoreline Defense works on emergent aquatic weeds, including cattails and phragmites, and other shoreline vegetation. Shoreline Defense kills weeds down to their roots. For best results, apply Shoreline Defense while the chosen weed is in its active growing stage. For cattails, it is best to apply during late summer to early fall.

Shoreline Defense® should be applied to target weeds while they are active and growing. The active ingredients in Shoreline Defense® will be absorbed by the plant where it travels to the roots killing the entire plant.
Dosage Rates:
8 oz Shoreline Defense® and 2 gallons Water = Treats 2,500 sq. ft.
16 oz Shoreline Defense® and 4 gallons Water = Treats 5,000 sq. ft.
32 oz Shoreline Defense® and 8 gallons Water = Treats 10,000 sq. ft.
Application: Mix the desired amount of Shoreline Defense® and pond water in accordance to label directions. Using a pressurized sprayer, spray the Shoreline Defense® mixture directly onto target weeds. Treated weeds will begin to brown and die. Once weeds are completely dead, cut and rake them away to prevent an accumulation of plant decay and pond muck.
Restrictions: Shoreline Defense® carries no water use restrictions.

Weeds Treated
The first step towards effectively treating any pond weed is proper identification. Pond Logic® Shoreline Defense® Aquatic Herbicide is recommended for use against each of the weeds listed below.
Question:
Customer has “Humongous” Iris in her pond that has fish and wants to kill it. She says it’s too big and intertwined for her to pull out. Do you have anything that can kill it without killing the fish?
AirMax Answer:
I asked my contact at Air Max to give her suggestion. Her response is below. When I asked her which one she would suggest, she went with the Shoreline Defense. Slower acting, but should go through plant to kill the whole plant. Best to use a surfactant with either product (Treatment Booster). It helps break down the waxy part of the leaves so that herbicide is more effective.
