Light weight pruner for water lilies. Stainless steel nipper. Spring-assisted retrieval. 4 ft long.

The nipper will sever the stem of the water lily but will not cut into the electrical cords of recirculating pumps. 

Operation of the nipper is performed by sliding the control collar to the front and rear. The purpose of the spring action is to keep the nipper in the closed position when not in use and to assist in retrieving the the pruned pad or blossom . The spring action is not intended to supply nipping force. 

Nipping force is applied by pulling the control collar to the rear. The nipper of the Lily Prune pinches the stem of the plant to a point that it breaks with slight resistance. The purpose of pinching both the plant side of the stem and the pad or blossom sued of the stem is so the pruner will work from the left or right side of the plant.

As the pruner is moved away from t he plant, the part of the stem attached to the plant breaks away.  The free floating part of the stem with the pad or blossom attached is removed from the water along with the pruner.
