Made in China
First one lasted one year and sprang a leak and shorted out. Tetra replaced and the second unit lasted 4 hours before shorting out. I have not found a unit from China that what worth purchasing. They have a quality problem.
Total CRAP!!!! Clogs constantly for months until it is totally blocked. Then it is unable to be unblocked. can't get a pipe cleaner into the vertical pipe to unclog. Complete waste of $$$$$.
Tetra 300 aquarium air pump
This is a outstanding pump.It will fulfill all your aquarium needs for years. It has two ports and delivers enough power to run a 20" sand bubble wand with a million bubbles. It's so quiet you will not even know it running unless you hold it.I have it on a piece of wood with a L brakes held to my tank stand to make it about 30 inches from the top of my 120,which is still 25 inches to the bottom.Don't waste your money on other junk pumps. (This is the pump, from a professional hobbies with 40+ experience.
Performance review
Owned for one year before it leaked. Another China product failure.
pond doughnut heater.....great until it dies too soon
First two years worked as advertised. Beginning of 3rd year......dies after initially working. Problem is you trust it then BAM a super cold snap happens and complete freeze-over happens. Two years of Winter use is too short a life for the cost. I guess you need to check it daily or have numerous doughnuts in case one gives out??
How you can extending the life of or modify your leaking heater
I have gone thru several of these pond heaters and yes they eventually leak and some fail over time but first I’d like to say I really like this pond heater and I use mine in my 3000 gal pond but I made some modifications by using a colorful foam pool noodle the kind kids use at a pool and wrapping it around the heater then after cutting it to size and making a hole on each ends to close the each side around the base by using a piece of plastic or rubber tubing. It allows the heater to float at the surface of your pond and protects it from taking on water!

Clogged pond filters
I have an Ultima II 20,000 filter on my backyard pond which is about 14,000 gallons. This filter works great, as in filtering, BUT it is way too hard to keep clean. Even while using pre-filters and skimmers, and with frequent backwashing according to instructions, over a season the thing will eventually get consolidated inside into a huge clump of fish-poop-media. !! You can easily tell when the performance is starting to decrease-- when the backwash discharge gets cleaner and cleaner over the season. You might think this sounds good, as your water is getting cleaner and cleaner, BUT WRONG--- the discharge water is getting cleaner because there is simply a channel in the filter tank, and you are mixing up less and less of the media since it has clumped together. They say you never have to clean the media inside these filters---- yes, that's true if you fill in your pond, move away, die, or build another filter! Ha---I've had to suck out all the media in this filter tank and clean the mess 3 times! That is a filthy, filthy assignment. Now my tank is buried, which makes this task VERY messy---and I'm NOT doing it again!! I think this filter would work well for an indoor koi pond, but my pond sees too many leaves, blown in garbage, twigs, etc. The ducks love it and so do the fish, but not the pond owner! I'm constantly trying to keep things clean--- even UV lights and chemicals don't help. What I need is a huge settling tank, but don't have the space for something like that. This burned out pond owner is ready to sell my fish and make a giant bog garden..... Have a nice summer!
cascade
A side view would help. There's no way to determine the drop.
water hyacinths
Ordered 6 of these. Arrived in perfect condition. Well packaged. Very healthy looking. Soaked them in bucket of pond water for 2 days in a shaded area, then placed in pond.
Too warm
Water is too warm & needs to be filled daily due to evaporation. My other bird baths water last several days.
